After I was done it would have been cheaper to rebuild the 304 than to do all that was needed to convert. With that said, I am still glad I did the conversion. S.

I'm not sure that a 350 V-8 will fit into a first generation XJ; you might have to think about a smaller V-8, like a 305 or a 267cid. Remember that the 2.8 V-6 is a 60 degree engine and the 350 is a 90 degree. In any case, I think that the stock XJ TF 904 auto tranny would not stand up to V-8 power.

Car-part.com helped alot i was able to see when somthing cheap came available at local yards. But if you do buy a motor you should regasket it all.
